David Pennybaker

I have always loved country music for its storytelling, and have long admired the songwriters who can craft a story into a three to four minute song and make me cry, laugh, or ponder.  So perhaps it shouldn't have been a surprise when I became a songwriter myself.  But as a petroleum engineer (now retired), I never saw it coming until I wrote “Convince My Heart” to a friend of mine after her tragic death.

I have now written over forty songs and released my fourth album, “Haggard and Hell".  I've played in Nashville at the Bluebird Cafe and Commodore Grill, and have written with Nashville songwriters.

I have ten of my songs being pitched to artists by publishers in Nashville:
 - Asphalt
 - Convince My Heart
 - Easy Doesn't
 - Fast Food
 - Haggard and  Hell
 - Half Past Lonely
 - I Need Fixin'
 - In Stone
 - Please Pay in Advance
 - Train Wreck
